"EASY-ON" MEET
9th March 2025

We will take it 'gently' this Sunday. This is a great opportunity for those new to our sport to experience a gentle introduction to the thrill of the drag hunt. This will consist of a mounted hound exercise to warm up the horses and settle the hounds, which will be followed by 2 lines, one in Running Free Meadow and a second over the grassy contours below 8 Rose Road. Designed to suit the current temperatures and firmer going, this shorter hunt is perfect for first time hunters.

We will meet in the Bowl in front of the Inanda Country Base Clubhouse at 7h30 for 7h45.

Please enter Inanda Country Base via the double gate at the bottom of Maple Road. If you are towing, park and unload in the field adjacent to the ICB Clubhouse. When we assemble in the Bowl arena, the field master will welcome you, collect your cap fee, introduce the huntsman and talk you through guidelines for safe hunting. At 8.00am the huntsman and hounds will move off followed by the field and hack masters, for a trot on the Benson’s property which adjoins Inanda Country Base. A short hack down Rose Road will take everyone to the first line in Running Free Meadow. A cooling check at the water on Lower Meadow will be followed by a hack to the second line on “Mark’s Contours”. Thereafter everyone will return to the clubhouse to sign the hunt register and enjoy a casual brunch.
