Blue Bird Outride
Saturday 16th August

The varied countryside, friendly optional jumps and water crossings to make the best outride fun for you and your horse. Even those not riding can have fun in their 4x4s or by taking liesurely walks on the farm.

There is always something new to discover on Blue Bird as Leon Smith, BB's farm manager, is continually cutting new tracks and building new jumps.

Blue Bird is just the best place to enjoy the warm sunshine of our amazing highveld winters.

Come and enjoy a relaxed outride on the Saturday, followed by a bring and braai.

Stay for the weekend and enjoy all the space that Blue Bird has to offer.

Trucking from Inanda Country Base is organised and great stabling and groom accommodation is available on Blue Bird.

Getting to Blue Bird
There are detailed directions to Blue Bird lower down on this page.
You can 'box' your own horse there if you wish or book a place on the truck from Inanda Country Base. The cost on the truck is R850.00.

Time of the Outride
The ride is planned to start at 10.00am and return at about 12.00 midday.

Cost
If you are not a Rand Hunt member, Inanda Club member or ICB baiter, the cap fee for the outride is R300 per rider.

From Hartebeestpoort Dam, Broederstroom
Travel west past Pecanwood and Le Godimo to the T Junction at Van Gaalen's. (zero your odometer in order to measure 13.6 km from this point)
Turn left onto the R560 to Magaliesburg
Travel through Scheerpoort and continue on this road towards Krugersdorp.
13.6 kms from the Van Gaalen T Junction, turn right  (sign to Inanda Blue Bird and Rand Hunt) 
This road is called the T4
Travel for 2.5km on this dirt road to a T Junction 
Turn right to Skeerpoort (sign to Inanda Blue Bird and Rand Hunt) 
The Blue Bird farm entrance is 500m from T junction (HF4)

Alternative route on the Krugersdorp Highway N14 (similar distance from Fourways as above)
Travel west towards Krugersdorp on the N14
At the end of the highway at the new CradleStone Centre on left and a Sasol garage in front of you on the  right, turn right to Ventersburg (also the N14 incidentally)
After 10km you reach a T Junction
Turn right to Ventersdorp, Hekpoort and Maropeng onto the R563
Continue on this road for 22km to the T Junction at the end
Turn right to Hartebeespoort and Hekpoort onto the R560
Travel on the R560 for 7.2km and turn left (sign to Inanda Blue Bird and Rand Hunt) 
This road is called the T4
Travel for 2.5km on this dirt road to a T Junction
Turn right to Skeerpoort (sign to Inanda Blue Bird and Rand Hunt)
